Announcing August 2005 winner

Luke Wullenwaber Scholarship Winner
----------------------------------------

I'm please to announce that Randy Reinholdt from Nanaimo, British Columbia is the August, 2005 winner of the Luke C. Wullenwaber TFT Memorial Scholarship.

Here's Lawrence's note:
---------------------------

Hi, my name is Randy Reinholdt.

I'm a 5th year Paramedic from Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.

First, I send my prayers and thoughts to Luke's family and loved ones. Being
in the Paramedic field it saddens me whenever there is any loss of human
life but having a life taken away such as Captain Wullenwaber's was hits close
to home. Everyday I go to work, put my skills to work to the best of my
abilities all for the preservation of life. As Luke's death shows, there are
elements out there beyond our control. My job, as with all Emergency Response personnel, is full of unexpected occurrences, and I see the worst in human
behavior everyday and am in Harm's way everyday.

I'm 41 years old with a beautiful wife and 8 yr. old daughter. I have been weight training since 12, Martial Arts since 9 and have kept active throughout my life. I always enjoyed your newsletters and yearned to come and take part in one of your
programs, but as I stated earlier, I am a Government-employed Paramedic with
a family who is just able to make ends meet.

But as the old cliché says, "we all want for our children what we never had" so my needs are secondary. I hope you will consider me for the Captain Wullenwaber Scholarship. I know I could put it to good use and feel it would be another usable tool on my job to bring me home safe every night.

Thank You and All the best,
Randy Reinholdt
