TFT Advanced Training

You already know how to use violence to effectively protect yourself, so why come to TFT’s Advance Training?

Efficiency… that’s what we work on with you now.

As we tell you at the base TFT seminar, our goal is to make you effective using the tool of violence and most people agree we accomplish that… in spades.

But as instructors you also heard us say while you left highly effective… you were not necessarily efficient (in your execution).

I make a big point in the base seminar to say if you want to look good come back for more training and we’ll make you look good doing this system.

What I meant by that is we’ll make you more efficient with your strikes, joint breaks, and throws. During these sessions, we will always assume and work in a multi-man/multi-attacker situation, with weapons included in each session.

As I’ve said many times there is no such thing as "advanced" training in TFT. There are just people with more advance coordination skills who are able to execute more difficult (coordination-wise) strikes, joint breaks and throws.

So this seminar focuses on giving you those new coordination skills that allow you to rapidly develop your ability to use the tool of violence in the most efficient manner.  We work with you to develop skills like:

  • Double Strikes
  • Neck Breaks
  • Spinal Compressions
  • Rotation Joint breaks
  • Nerve Strikes
  • Hip Throws
  • Leverage Throws

And that’s just a taste of what we’ll give you now that you have the basics of using the tool of violence under your belt.

In the TFT system a Master Instructor is expected to execute, at will, a Strike/Joint Break/Throw against the other guy. He is expected to do it with a weapon and/or against the other guy(s) with a weapon(s). I designed this course so you will walk out with the new skills to start training in this same manner.

So let’s go over…

The Advanced Training
Seminar Format

We’ve broken the 2 days we have to train with you into 4 training blocks:

Block One  – (Day 1, 9a-1p)

Free Practice Assessment – you’ll get in groups of 3 and free practice while the instructors watch each group and assess where everyone’s skill level is currently.

Intro to Leg Dynamics – This is an in depth instruction to a skill set you may practice every day to dramatically improves your ability to master your coordination for using the tool of violence.

Introduction to Coordination Sets – This gives you the tools necessary to get the most out of the training weekend. Coordination sets are how we mold you to absorb new coordination skills that utilize the new strikes, joint breaks and throws. All coordination sets will include knives, firearms and clubs where appropriate.

Block Two (Day 1, 2p-5:30p)

Striking Review – A brief refresher on the physics and physiology of Striking to set up the rest of the session.

Striking Coordination sets – Instructors will take you through various striking sets working with and without weapons as well as against weapons.

Double-Strike Coordination Sets – Instructors will run you through various double strike sets working with and without weapons as well as against weapons.

Free Practice Session will liberally be spread throughout the session to lock in your new skills.

Block Three (Day 2,  9a-1p)

Joint Breaking Review – A review and further look into the physics and physiology of Joint Breaks to set up the rest of the session.

Joint Break Coordination sets – Instructors will run you through various joint break sets working with and without weapons as well as against weapons.

Strike/Joint Break Coordination Sets – Instructors will run you through various strike/joint break sets working with and without weapons as well as against weapons.

Free Practice Sessions will liberally be spread throughout the session to lock in your new skills.

Block Four  (Day 2,  2p-5:30p)

Throwing Review – A more in depth look at the physics and physiology of Throwing to set up the rest of the session.

Throwing Coordination sets – Instructors will run you through various throwing sets working with and without weapons as well as against weapons.

Strike/Joint Break/Throw Coordination Sets – Instructors will combine everything together, taking you through various strike/joint break/throw  sets, again, working with and without weapons as well as against weapons.

As before, Free Practice Sessions will liberally be spread throughout the session to lock in your new skills.

In Summary:

Give me 2 days and whatever your current level of ability, and I will give you new coordination skills and numerous takeaways that allow you to blast through your training plateaus to reach new levels of ability in your free practice that currently you can’t even imagine.

If you’ve completed any TFT class (current 2-day, or any older 2 1/2-day, 1-day or 4-hour sessions) or had private training with a TFT Instructor, you’re eligible to take one of these new Advanced training classes. (Sorry, DVD training isn’t sufficient to enter an advanced class. You must have had prior on-the-mat experience with a TFT instructor).
